FEATURE Norwegian Wood tells the story of what happens to two American teens
who follow a Norwegian exchange student home to Norway to participate in a
200 year-old rite of passage called the Russ. What their American parents may
not realize is that the Russ is the world's largest high school graduation
party, where Norway's entire graduating class of high school seniors spends
27 straight days riding around the country on uniquely themed buses, stocked
with beer, partying, drinking, blasting music, meeting new people, pulling
pranks on their teachers and attending raves in the woods where almost anything
goes.
Norwegian Wood is a teen coming-of-age comedy set against the backdrop
of a real tradition that is unique to Norway. Through the freedoms afforded
them
by the Russ, our heroes learn more than they ever thought possible about
sex, love, partying, identity, friendship, trust and, of course—life. |
