Alex Twersky is a co-founder and principal
at Kinetic Arts, a New York-based film and television production company
that
specializes in developing the talents of new writers and directors, as well
as adapting award-winning short films into features.
Alex’s media background
is diverse and extensive; before launching Kinetic Arts, he worked in publishing
at Scholastic, the $2 billion children’s
media giant, serving in various marketing and brand management roles; while
there he also launched an international licensing division and closed deals
with global media companies such as Disney, Vivendi Universal, Hachette,
and the BBC.
After leaving Scholastic, he consulted on media strategy for
such Fortune 1000 companies such as Prodigy Internet, Starwood Hotels & Resorts,
SBC Communications, and Real Networks.
As a producer, Alex has worked
in numerous capacities on features, shorts and documentaries that have
garnered awards and run at prestigious film
festivals,
including Sundance, Toronto, Clermont-Ferrand, and many more.
Alex
is currently developing a slate of features, based on Academy Award®-winning
shorts, profound literary properties, and the richly textured scripts
and ideas produced by the Academy Award®-winning writers and directors
with whom Kinetic Arts is proud to be aligned. In addition to his work
in film and TV,
Alex is a writer whose credits include the Instant Scholar Guide
to Art and Literature for Random House, a career guide for Crane’s,
the internationally renowned paper company, and numerous film reviews and
media
essays for various
websites and online magazines.
Alex received his BS in Marketing
and International Business from NYU’s
Stern School of Business. This academic experience taught him, above
all, to follow his passion for film, which is why he is not nestled in
corporate
America
but fighting the good fight to get his films made. |
